Just the name "Bavaria" makes one think of winter fun and games: wonderful white landscape, snow as far as the eye can see, magnificent mountains and the ultimate way to enjoy the outdoor world in winter. Combine this with a beautiful unspoilt natural world, cosy chalet evenings and colourful customs – and this is not just at Christmas. From the end of November right through to April Bavaria’s winter resorts show off their true snowy white colours. There are three factors that make Bavaria’s mountains so popular: the typical Bavarian winter magic, the fabulous range of products on offer and the fact that you are assured of having snow. One thing is sure: superbly prepared pistes with plenty of snow guarantee a good snow base that will last throughout the season. A winter break in Bavaria will free up your soul and open up new horizons whilst giving you time to tank up on a little extra sun at the same time!
Nowhere else on earth will be hosting as many World Championships in the next two winter seasons as Bavaria. In 2011 The downhill championship will be hotly contested in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the bob and skeleton championship in Königsee, and the speed skating championship in Inzell whilst in 2012 the biathlon championship will be staged in Ruhpolding. The state has long been known for hosting championships of all disciplines. Come with us to the land of champions and to the Bavarian Winterstars.
